Fake your way to better music taste Fridays

“If music be the food of love, play on, Give me excess of it; that surfeiting, The appetite may sicken, and so die.” ― William Shakespeare

I honestly believe that you can fake your way through any conversation as long as you can talk about what you’re watching or what you’re listening to. And if the person you’re talking to can’t fake their way to add to the discussion, they’re not worth your time. Everyone’s listening to something: music, podcasts, the soothing sounds of cacophonous noise at a Korean marketplace on a Saturday morning. OR they’re watching something. And I don’t believe people who say they don’t watch TV. Yes, you do. You may watch the news, C-Span, or secretly keep up with the Kardashians. But you watch something. Even my husband is captivated by the moving lights of the TV. And that man doesn’t have a favorite show. We watch whatever I’m watching. The point is, that if you’re ever stuck in a conversation with Lacey from accounting at the coffee bar, you can bring up what you’re watching or what you’re listening to. You can reference my post, New Year, New You, New (to you) Shows for a show to talk about. And hey if you haven’t had the chance to watch one yet, I included summaries. I got you, fake it! For some new music please see below the five songs I’m feeling this week. There’s a mix because variety is the spice of life and all that jazz.

Great, Good, Fine, Ok-Carried Away

Came for the band name, stayed for the song. It’s the little things.

FKJ-Is Magic Gone

No FKJ, it’s not. It’s in this song.

1975-Be My Mistake

I’m not ashamed to say I willingly dated a guy I knew was in love with another girl. And if you know you’ve done the same, this sad ballad will take you back to those tenebrific memories.

boy pablo- Everytime

For all those who have fallen in love without really knowing the person.

Sun Rai- San Francisco Street

A jazzy number by a man whose last name I would love to learn how to pronounce (Thistlethwayte).

Daniel Caesar- Get You (featuring Kali Uchis)

I apologize in advance because I will frequently post Daniel Caesar. His voice is angelic.
